Painted Grasshawk

Taken whilst visiting Litchfield, Northern Territory, Australia. These guys were everywhere. Anyone know their scientific name? My super brainy friend, Smathi, tells me this one is a Painted Grasshawk, Neurothemis stigmatizans stigmatizans – male.

I also have a short post about the processing of this photo in the blog section.

  1. Brilliant bokeh! Glorious greens! Again, the selected moment of quiet here is superb. Those wings are awesome.
