This site is a simple weblog of my photographic hobby. With every image I am going to try and include some writing, mainly as a bit of extra practise for my real job (writing research papers). Please explore the website and don’t be afraid to critique my photos – the only reason I have them here is to receive constructive feedback.

My subject is mainly Australian landscapes, but I try to take photos of anything I find interesting. I do a lot of travel photography but would love to take more street photography as well as portraiture. I am trying to become a strobist.

My photos may also be found on Flickr. I am listed at all the usual places including VFXY, CoolPhotoBlogs, and Photoblogs. I’m trying to get on JPG Magazine and Onexposure/1X – it is damned hard.

Currently I shoot with a Nikon D90 and various lenses, but I’m fast getting tired of DSLRs. I think they are too bulky and cumbersome. Since I am by no means a professional, I have no need for humongous, grain free photos. As such I’ve recently upgraded to a Ricoh GR Digital III and will try to use it more. Ultimately, I’d really like to end up with a Leica M9.
