Excellent quiet comes through here. It’s not still – just quiet. The lens vignetting, as used here, makes a strong statement towards isolating the moment.

Yep, you’re absolutely correct. I used two different masks – one for the sky, and the other for the earth. I tried to feather them to reduce the glow, but it didn’t work as I wanted. I wonder if there is a better method…

Great mood. It’s hard to side-step cliche with subject matter like this, but I think you’ve pulled off a fantastic shot. I wonder if the glow round the rock is the result of post-processing? not that it matters. Well done.

Ditto to the previous comment. The colours complement each other very well (as you’d expect with orange and blue). I’m liking the subtle depth to this scene, and how the beams also lend themselves well as a sort of framing device. Ultimately my kind of shot, a scene you’d pass everyday without thinking twice about it, but on further examination proves to be interesting. Nice work mate!
